This starts with ensuring that early childhood educators have equal access to professional development opportunities and educational betterment, free of financial barriers that limit career growth.
As part of our scholarship program, tuition up to 12 credits per semester and some fees are covered without any employer requirements. Requirements include maintaining a 2.5 GPA, working in a licensed childcare facility, and participation in progress updates with the Scholarship Coordinator. Upon completion of a degree program, six months continuous employment in early child care and education is also required for completion stipends.

ELIGIBILITY:

- Student must complete a technical associate degree program at DTCC Owens Campus (parallel program is excluded).
- Student must advance to the Partnership Center and complete a baccalaureate degree program offered by the awarding Partner institution (DSU or WU).
- The baccalaureate program must be offered in the Partnership Center and chosen from one of the eligible programs defined by the Scholarship.
- Students should apply to the Partnership offering the major that best meets their educational goals.
- Students may apply to more than one Partnership.

PURPOSE:
To enable deserving students to earn a bachelor's degree in Sussex County by first earning an associate degree from Delaware Tech Owens Campus and then advancing to the William A. Carter Partnership Center in Georgetown to complete the requirements for a bachelor's degree through Wilmington University. Eligible majors for this Scholarship are:

1. Complete the Delaware Tech & Wilmington University Higher Education SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION.
2. Complete the FREE APPLICATION FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID form available in the high school counseling office.
3. Complete the ADMISSIONS APPLICATION for Delaware Tech.
4. Submit the above three items by March 1, 2023 to the Financial Aid Office, Delaware Tech-Owens Campus, 21179 College Drive, Georgetown, DE 19947.
5. Complete the ADMISSIONS APPLICATION for Wilmington University no later than the semester in which graduation from Delaware Tech is anticipated. Consult with a Wilmington University counselor.
CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
1. Eligible high school seniors must be a resident of Sussex County to apply for this Scholarship. Milford students will be considered Sussex County residents for purposes of this Scholarship.
2. Selection will be based on a combination of academic excellence and demonstrated financial need.
RESTRICTIONS:
1. This Scholarship is for TUITION ONLY at Delaware Technical Community College and at Wilmington University in Sussex County at the Carter Partnership Center.
2. This Scholarship will be forfeited if the recipient does not enroll in the academic term for which the Scholarship is awarded or if the student’s GPA falls below a 2.0.
3. The Scholarship is renewable until the bachelor's degree is earned or until 120 credits are earned (this is combining Delaware Tech and Wilmington University). On average, 60 credits
would be earned at Delaware Tech and 60 credits at Wilmington University. Continued eligibility is based on maintaining a 2.0 GPA toward the degree according to the institution's policy.
4. A recipient may attend University as a full or part-time student.
5. Upon successful completion of the associate’s degree at Delaware Tech, with a minimum GPA of 2.0, the recipient must apply and be eligible for admission to Wilmington University.
6. A student may take a leave of absence with prior written consent based on the institution’s policy granting the consent. The written request must be submitted to the Financial Aid office of Delaware Tech for associate degree interruption or the Partnership Institution (located in the William A. Carter Partnership Center) in which you are enrolled for bachelor’s degree interruption.

Students shall have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will have earned at least 15 credits. Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books or other course materials. Terry Campus Trustee Academic Merit Scholarship
The successful student will be a Delaware resident. Must be a returning, full time student who has a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or better. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 college level credits (100 level or above) at Delaware Tech in the student's declared technology and have unmet financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Two scholarship reference letters from a Delaware Technical Community College employee are required. Scholarship recipients must continue to meet all criteria for the scholarship prior to the start of all award eligible semesters.
Terry Campus Trustee Access Scholarship
The successful student will be a Delaware resident and be working on a degree or diploma. Students must have a 2.0 GPA, completed a FAFSA, and have financial need.
Terry International Education Fund

The successful candidate must be a degree seeking Terry Campus student who has completed at least six institutional credits within the previous two years and be currently enrolled at Delaware Technical Community College. Candidates who meet the application and scholarship requirements will have their essay judged by the International Education Scholarship Committee. Essays will be evaluated based on the quality of content, style, and grammar. Candidates must also have a reference from a Delaware Technical Community College instructor submitted by the scholarship deadline. (There is a link to request the reference letter in the application.) Preference will be given to first time recipients.
Students must commit to contributing a minimum of ten hours of approved volunteer activities for the Terry Campus Global Understanding Series and/or campus study abroad activities within one year of the award, including the International Education Fundraiser.
