Delaware Higher Education Office - Career Based Scholarship

Students must file the 24-25 FAFSA by May 15, 2024. This scholarship is for full time undergraduate students enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a Delaware public or private college in a major leading to a career in a high-need field in Delaware. The award amount is $5,000 per year. Students can re-apply each year. Awards will be made after August 1, 2024.

A T & T First Responder Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be a full time student (12 credits) in the Criminal Justice Program at the Georgetown, Dover or Stanton Campuses. Preference will be given to students between the ages of 18 to 24 years old, who represent an underserved community or demonstrate financial need.

A. Richard Heffron Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to post traditional students who show promise through academic interest, extra curricular activity or volunteer service. Students can be enrolled in any credit program. The scholarship will rotate among the campuses. The funding can be used for tuition, fees or books.

AARP Chapter#5340 Nursing Scholarship

Scholarship(s) for tuition, books, fees, and related educational resources for Licensed Practical Nursing professionals (LPNs) who are enrolled students(s) in the Associated Degree-Nursing (ADN) program at Jack F. Owens Campus.
Student(s) must maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and achieve objectives of the Nursing program.
Student(s) must have demonstrated financial need.
Preference is given to student(s) with children that have a financial need to continue their education.
Preference will be given to previous recipients of this scholarship, given that they meet the above criteria.

The successful student will be enrolled in their second year at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need.

Adam Paul Devore Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in the Drug and Alcohol or Human Services degree program or the post graduate Drug and Alcohol certificate program at the Wilmington Campus. Students can also be enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing program and the Bachelor of Science Nursing program. Students should demonstrate financial need, be enrolled in at least six credits and have a 3.0 or above GPA. Department chair shall recommend qualified students to the Financial Aid Department.

ADN Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled at the Terry Campus and be accepted Associate Degree Nursing program. Student must have a 2.5 cumulative GPA.

Alice Etherington Trust

Georgetown’s campus for full-time students pursuing degrees in electronics. These students must maintain good grades and be working toward completing the degree in a reasonable period of time and demonstrate some need for assistance.

Alma Powell Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in any degree program at the Stanton Campus. Students must have financial need and a 2.5 or above GPA. Students must submit an essay which will be reviewed by the Stanton English Department Chair. Student will also submit two letters of recommendation from a former teacher or DTCC faculty member.

ALOFT AeroArchitects Hometown Hero Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled full time at the Owens Campus in the Airframe Maintenance, Power Plant, Electronic Engineering or Engineering Technologies with a 2.5 or above GPA. Preference given to students who are active or former military, that were/are wounded or injured during service in the US Army, Air Force, Coast Guard, Marine Corps, Navy and Special Operations Command, as well as the Reserves. Second preference will be given to active duty military members and/or veterans. Third preference will be given to the spouse or dependent children of military members and/or veterans who were disabled or killed in the line of duty.

ALOFT AeroArchitects Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in the Airframe Maintenance degree program at the Owens Campus. Student must be a US citizen and a Delaware resident and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. The student must demonstrate financial need and not be eligible for the SEED program.

Alumni Association Endowment

The successful student will have earned at least 12 credits and have a minimum GPA of 2.5. Students must have an alumni sponsor.

Amy & Brian Thomas Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled full time in the second year of the Respiratory Care program at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need and have a 3.0 or above GPA.

Anis Saliba, M.D. and Sue Saliba Global Understanding Endowment

This scholarship is available to all Delaware Tech degree seeking students enrolled for the first time in a study abroad or study away class. The successful student can be based at any campus and must be enrolled in at least six credits in the spring semester and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Students must commit to conducting a presentation to the College community about their study abroad/away learning experience as part of the Global Understanding Series within six months of their return. Scholarship awards will be allocated directly to the travel expense.

Please note: The Presidential scholarship application is automatically used to apply for all other study abroad scholarships, so applicants must only fill out one application.

Annabel E. Moore Memorial Endowment

The succesful student will be a Sussex County resident, enrolled in their second year at the Owens Campus. Donor preferences include a dental related major or a health related curriculum.

Arthur & Ruth Ellen Challman Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled in an Owens Campus Health Career Technology program. Students can be full time or part time and must have earned at least 30 credits and have a minimum 3.0 GPA. Students must complete the FAFSA.

Auto Team Delaware Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in the Automotive Technology program at the Stanton Campus. Students must have earned a minimum of 12 credits. Scholarship will cover tuition, fees, books and other course materials. Students will have a good work ethic and grit as personal values.

Automotive Technology Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled in the Automotive program at the Owens Campus with a 2.3 or above GPA.

Baumbach Family Science Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in the Biology or Chemistry program at the Stanton Campus. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits and have a 2.5 or above GPA. Preference given to students from a low income household and/or a first generation college student. Students must demonstrate financial need. Upon completion of the degree program, recipients must file an application with Bayhealth and interview if Bayhealth request interview. Failure to do so may result in reimbursement of funds.

The successful student will be enrolled in the Automotive program at the Owens Campus. Students must have completed 12 credits and demonstrate financial need and have a 2.5 or above GPA.

The successful student will be enrolled in any academic program at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need, be enrolled in at least six credits and have a 2.0 or above GPA. Scholarship will cover tuition and other costs including books and fees.

Bob Seinsoth Endowment for Criminal Justice

The successful student will be enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at the Stanton Campus. Students must have completed 50% of the program and have a 2.5 or above GPA to be eligible for this scholarship.

Bright Vet Tech Scholarship

Student must be a resident of Sussex County & enrolled in Veterinary Technology Program at the Owens Campus. Preference will be given to previous recipients, who continue to meet the scholarship criteria.

Burris Logistics

The successful student will be enrolled full or part time in the Diesel degree program at the Owens Campus. Students must complete the FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.

Business Cluster Fund

The successful student will be a full time or part time student with a 2.8 or above GPA. Students must have volunteer experience and must have completed at least 12 credits.

C. Paul West Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established to honor the memory of Paul West, a former Industrial Engineering Technology Student. The successful student will be a Stanton Operations Management Student in their second year. This scholarship may be used for tuition only. This scholarship rotates with the other Stanton/George Memorial scholarships.

The successful student will be enrolled part time in any Business degree program at the Wilmington Campus. Students must have completed 12 credits, have a 2.5 or above GPA and apply for financial aid. Charles Firth, Jr., Culinary Arts Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled full or part time in the Culinary Arts program at the Stanton Campus. Students must have completed 12 credits, have a 2.0 or above GPA and have applied for financial aid. Although this scholarship is not need based. Students must submit a letter of recommendation from a past or present teacher or employer and submit a 300-500 word essay discussing the attributes of a professional chef.

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in the Electronic or Electrical Engineering program at the Stanton Campus. Students should have completed at least one semester, 12 credits and have a 2.0 or above GPA. Students should submit a letter of recommendation from a past or present employer or teacher and complete an essay stating the attributes of a good electrical engineering technician.

Provide child-care scholarship(s) for Jack F. Owens Campus F/T credit eligible students earning at least 12 credits a semester or P/T credit eligible students earning at least 3 credits a semester and who are parents of children enrolled in Owens Campus Child Development Center (CDC). No FAFSA required. Eligible students must incur or have a childcare tuition balance at the Owens Campus Child Development Center (CDC). Any credit balance, for example caused by a child withdrawing from the program mid-semester, reverts to DTCC for use for another scholarship eligible child.

Dr. Robert F. Johnson Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will reside in Sussex County and will be enrolled at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need, have a 2.5 or above GPA and be enrolled in at least six credits. Preference given to students enrolled in an Allied Health program.

Dr. William A. Carter Student Aid Endowment

The successful student will be a resident of Sussex County and be enrolled as an Owens Campus student. Students must complete a FAFSA and demonstrate financial need.

Drafting Competition

Available to high school students in the tri-state area competing in the Manual Drafting and CADD Competition. Winners are presented with a certificate worth variable tuition redeemable when the students matriculate by their given deadline date. Students submit the certificate to the Business Office for payment upon registration.

Dylan Andrei Vansant Memorial Scholarship

Scholarship to be awarded to students enrolled in the Aviation Maintenance Technology program at the Owens campus. The scholarship will fund tuition, fees, books and other course materials. The student(s) must demonstrate a financial need. Preference will be given to female students.

Early Childhood Innovation Center

This starts with ensuring that early childhood educators have equal access to professional development opportunities and educational betterment, free of financial barriers that limit career growth.

As part of our scholarship program, tuition up to 12 credits per semester and some fees are covered without any employer requirements. Requirements include maintaining a 2.5 GPA, working in a licensed childcare facility, and participation in progress updates with the Scholarship Coordinator. Upon completion of a degree program, six months continuous employment in early child care and education is also required for completion stipends.

Funds for Global Understanding - Owens

The Owens Campus Study Abroad Scholarship for students is based on the eligibility requirements below. Any exceptions to the scholarship program outlined below can be made by the Application Committee. The scholarship is awarded for a specific course and may not be postponed to another semester. Scholarship awards will be allocated directly to the travel expense.

Candidates who meet the application and scholarship requirements will have their essay judged by the Owens Campus Scholarship Committee. Essays will be evaluated based on the quality of content, style, and grammar. Candidates must also have a letter of reference from a Delaware Tech instructor submitted by the scholarship deadline. (There is a link to request the reference letter in the application.) Preference will be given to first-time recipients.
Applicants must: 1) Be a degree-seeking, Owens Campus student that has completed 6 Delaware Tech credit hours within the previous two years (as of the end of the fall semester), 2) Possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50, and 3) be enrolled in a study abroad or study away course at Delaware Tech.

Students must commit to contributing a minimum of ten hours of approved volunteer activities for the Owens Campus Global Understanding Series and/or campus International Education activities within one year of the award (volunteer information provided by campus International Education Coordinator).

Future Citizens Scholarship Fund

The successful candidate will be a graduate of a Sussex County high school and be an undocumented individual. (This is not for applicants who have a student VISA.) Students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0. This scholarship will pay for half of the tuition costs up to three ESL courses.

Gail Coughlan Memorial Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in any degree program at the Stanton or Wilmington Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need, have a 3.25 or above GPA and have completed 16 credits.

Gail Leigh Hurley Scholarship Fund

An Upward Bound, Owens Campus student, who applies for this scholarship must be planning to attend Delaware Technical Community College. The donor stipulates that the student must either select a health-related career for his or her educational goal or must make a commitment to participate in a fund-raising activity sponsored by the National Juvenile Onset Diabetes Association of the Delaware Diabetes Association.

Garbutt Family Trust Scholarship

Enrolled Full-time at Owens. First time or returning student. (If first time student, eligibility based on high school or transfer GPA.) Enrolled in associate degree program in Business, Computers, or Information Technology. Demonstrate Financial need. GPA 2.5. Preference given to graduates of Milford School District.

Gene Hastings Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in the Education program at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need and have a 2.5 or above GPA.

The successful student will be enrolled in their second year of the Business Administration program at the Wilmington Campus. Students must have a 3.25 or above GPA and be recommended by the department instructors. Students must be actively involved in college activities and community services.

George Campus Academic Incentive Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident attending at least half time with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Scholarship covers tuition and fees only.

George Campus Mardi Gras Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in a degree program at the Wilmington Campus. Students must be a US citizen, a Delaware resident and have a 2.5 or above GPA.

George Campus Orlando J. George, Jr. & Linda K. George Endowed Scholarship

The successful student can be full time or part time but must be enrolled in at least six credits. Students can be enrolled in any Associate's Degree program at any one of our four campuses. Students shall have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will have earned at least 15 credits. Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books or other course materials. Selected applicants must complete a letter of appreciation to the scholarship donor.

George Campus Trustee Academic Merit Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident. Must be a returning, full time student who has a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or better. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 college level credits (100 level or above) at Delaware Tech in the student's declared technology and have unmet financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Two scholarship reference letters from a Delaware Technical Community College employee are required. Scholarship recipients must continue to meet all criteria for the scholarship prior to the start of all award eligible semesters.

George Campus Trustee Access Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident and be working on a degree or diploma. Students must have a 2.0 GPA, completed a FAFSA, and have financial need. Scholarship is for tuition only.

Glazebrook Memorial Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be a Sussex County resident who is over the age of 25. Students must complete the FAFSA and have and maintain a 2.5 GPA. Preferences include students majoring in Business, Accounting, Nursing or Education. Preference also given to minority students. This scholarship covers tuition only.

Greg Garvey Memorial Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in the Biotechnology or Chemistry Technology at our Stanton Campus. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits and scholarship can be used for tuition and fees. This scholarship rotates with other Stanton/George Memorial scholarships.

Gruver-Smiles Scholarship

To establish a scholarship for full-time or part-time students enrolled in the English as a Second language program at the Jack F. Owens Campus. The scholarship will fund tuition, fees, books, and other course materials in the amount of $1,000 per year until the fund balance and any accrued interest is fully depleted. Scholarship is renewable for a second year in the amount of $1,000 for students that maintain eligibility. New scholarships may also be awarded in the amount of $1,000 per year during years in which second-year renewed scholarships continue to be funded.

Hallett Vinyard Memorial Loan Fund

Be a U.S. Citizen. Be Making Satisfactory Progress. Have a minimum GPA of 2.0 (high school or college). Apply for Financial Aid. Students who cannot obtain parent information need to document their special circumstances.

Helen Ann Smith Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in the Education program at the Owens Campus. The successful student will be resident of Sussex County, enrolled at the Owens Campus in any associate degree program. Student must be a Veteran of the United States military.

The successful student will be a graduate of AI DuPont High School enrolled full time in any program at the Wilmington Campus.

Howard R. Layton Scholarship Endowment

The successful candidate will be enrolled in any Business, Computer, Office Administration or Applied Agriculture degree program at the Owens Campus. The student must be a resident of Sussex or Kent County and have completed at least 24 credits. Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA and complete the FAFSA.

Ileana M. Smith Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in any associate degree program at the Owens Campus. Students can be full time or part time who have completed 50% or more of their degree requirements. Preference for international students.

The successful student will be enrolled in the Electromechanical program at the Terry Campus. Students should be enrolled in at least six credits and have a 2.5 or above GPA. Scholarship will cover tuition, fees and personal expenses.

International Education Scholarship Fund

The International Education Scholarship awards current students based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need and intent to participate in a Delaware Tech study abroad or study away course. The criteria to be considered are the following:

1) Be a degree seeking student, enrolled in at least 6 institutional credit hours at Delaware Technical Community College in the spring semester; 2) be a first time study abroad participant in a Delaware Tech study abroad course; 3) possess a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5; 4) commit to participate on a project for the college community about your study abroad/away experience and engage in four volunteer hours at the College as part of the Global Understanding Series within six months of your return (hours will be arranged in coordination with the Global Understanding Series and Student Life); 5) Demonstrate financial need.

Mary Murray Memorial Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in the Culinary or Food Service Management program at the Stanton Campus. Students should have completed at least one semester and have a 3.0 or higher GPA.

Math League Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled at the Stanton or Wilmington Campus and have an exceptional appreciation for math through studying and/or involvement in extracurricular activities. Students must have a 3.0 or above GPA in math courses. Students should have a math instructor write a letter of recommendation.

To establish scholarship(s) for student(s) enrolled in their final year of the Bachelor of Science in Education program at the Owens Campus.

The successful student will be enrolled in the Homeland Security or Emergency Management program at the Terry Campus. Student must be a citizen of the United States. Student may be a resident of any state. Student must be enrolled full time. Student must have at least a 3.0 cum gpa and maintain a 3.0 cum gpa. Student must submit an essay discussing why they want to pursue a career in homeland security and their career and educational goals. Student must demonstrate financial need as determined by the completing FAFSA.

Michele Storm Gosser Memorial Endowment for Nursing Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in the Nursing Program at the Stanton Campus. Students must demonstrate a 2.75 or above GPA to be eligible for this scholarship.

Milton Garden Club

2022 Application - $3,000 Scholarship

The Milton Garden Club is now accepting applications for the Milton Garden Club Post-Secondary Student Scholarship for full-time students attending colleges or universities in the State of Delaware including University of Delaware, Delaware State University and Delaware Technical & Community College. The number of scholarships awarded is based on the number of qualified applicants.

ELIGIBILITY:

Applicants must be returning sophomore, junior or seniors enrolled full-time in a college or university in the State of Delaware studying in the field of agriculture and natural resources.
Applicants must be legal residents of Sussex County, Delaware.

CRITERIA:

Applicants must demonstrate a commitment to the study of landscape and ornamental horticulture; plant science including sustainable landscapes, production horticulture, plant pathology, plant biology and genetics, soils and environmental quality; landscape design and architecture; agribusiness marketing and management or another similar related field.

Neighborhood Assistance Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled in any full or part-time degree or diploma students. To be considered, applicants must have unmet financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and have a total household income at or below 80% of the area median family income as determined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development. Scholarship recipients must continue to meet all criteria for the scholarship prior to the start of all award eligible semesters.

Neila D. Block Memorial Endowed Scholarship

The successful student will be undocumented and must have attended for at least three years and have graduated from a Sussex County high school. Student can be full or part time at the Owens Campus and be enrolled in an English as a Second Language or a credit program. Student must demonstrate financial need and have at least a 2.0 GPA.

New Castle County Alumni Association Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled at the Stanton or Wilmington Campus. Students must be a US citizen, have a 2.5 or above GPA and be enrolled in 6 credits. Students must have completed 12 credits and must be the parent, child, grandchild or spouse of an alumnus. This scholarship is for tuition only.

Nihar Gala Grant

Nihar Gala is a medical entrepreneur based in Delaware and founder of Alpha Care Medical. He is following up with the success of his previous scholarship fund for doctors, and now wants to help the next generation of healthcare students in the United States through the “Nihar Gala Grant for Healthcare Students”. This scholarship is available for students in the United States who are currently enrolled in a university, or high school students who have plans to attend a university. The grant is meant to help a deserving student with funding who wishes to become a healthcare professional.

Nursing Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be accepted into the Associate Degree Nursing program at the Owens Campus. Students must have a 3.25 or better GPA.

Owens - Academic Incentive Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident attending at least half time with a minimum GPA of 3.25. Award should not exceed $3,720 per person, per year, for tuition and technology support fees only.

Owens - Orlando J. George, Jr. & Linda K. George Endowed Scholarship

The successful student can be full time or part time but must be enrolled in at least six credits. Students can be enrolled in any Associate's Degree program at any one of our four campuses. Students shall have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will have earned at least 15 credits. Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books or other course materials. Selected applicants must complete a letter of appreciation to the scholarship donor.

Owens - Trustee Academic Merit Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident. Must be a returning, full time student who has a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or better. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 college level credits (100 level or above) at Delaware Tech in the student's declared technology and have unmet financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). A scholarship reference from a Delaware Technical Community College employee is required. Owens - Trustee Access Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident and be working on a degree or diploma. Students must have a 2.0 GPA, completed a FAFSA, and have financial need.

Owens Campus Empowerment Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in any credit degree program at any campus but a resident of Sussex County. Students must have completed 75% of the program credits; have a minimum 2.5 GPA and have received a student loan to pursue their Delaware Tech degree. The scholarship will cover tuition and other costs.

Owens Campus Minority Scholarship Fund

This scholarship is open to Owens Campus minority students. (Black, Hispanic, Asian or Native American) Students must have at least a 2.0 or better GPA and have attended at least one semester at Owens Campus. Students must complete the FAFSA.

Phillip Ellingsworth Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled full time in any of the Owens Campus industrial education programs (Automotive, Airframe Maintenance, Applied Agriculture, Energy Management Wastewater). Students must complete the FAFSA.

Plummer Endowed Scholarship for Diversity in Nursing

The successful student will be enrolled in the Associate Degree Nursing or RN to BSN program. Students can be full or part time and must have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. Students must demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to disadvantaged students, such as: those students living in or having significant experience with households that are diverse in race, sexual orientation or gender identify, students have demonstrated experience in or commitment to working with historically underserved or underprivileged populations, students of low income households, students of single or no parent households, students from school districts with high drop out rates, students from families in which few or no members have attended college. Funds can be used to cover tuition, course materials and uniforms. Scholarship will rotate among the campuses.

Presidential Scholarship for Study Abroad & Study Away Programs

The Presidential Scholarship for Study Abroad and Study Away awards are available to current Delaware Tech students and are based on demonstrated academic achievement, financial need, and enrollment in a Delaware Tech study abroad or study away course.

Criteria: To be considered, applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 and be a degree-seeking Delaware Tech student who has completed a minimum of 6 credits at Delaware Tech. Students also must be enrolled in a study abroad or away course. Preference will be given to first-time recipients. Award amount will be determined based on financial need.

The Scott & Hoffnagle Collage Scholarship Fund (the “Fund”) is excited to offer College Scholarship Awards for the Continuing Education of individuals pursuing higher education in a Construction related field. 2024 will be the 10th continuous year of our Central Penn’s Sporting Clays Fund Raising event and our 9th year awarding scholarship funds to deserving students. PURPOSE:
To enable deserving students to earn a bachelor's degree in Sussex County by first earning an associate degree from Delaware Tech Owens Campus and then advancing to the William A. CRITERIA FOR SELECTION:
1. Eligible high school seniors must be a resident of Sussex County to apply for this Scholarship. Milford students will be considered Sussex County residents for purposes of this Scholarship.
2. Selection will be based on a combination of academic excellence and demonstrated financial need.
RESTRICTIONS:
1. This Scholarship is for TUITION ONLY at Delaware Technical Community College and at Wilmington University in Sussex County at the Carter Partnership Center.
2. This Scholarship will be forfeited if the recipient does not enroll in the academic term for which the Scholarship is awarded or if the student’s GPA falls below a 2.0.
3. The Scholarship is renewable until the bachelor's degree is earned or until 120 credits are earned (this is combining Delaware Tech and Wilmington University). On average, 60 credits
would be earned at Delaware Tech and 60 credits at Wilmington University. Continued eligibility is based on maintaining a 2.0 GPA toward the degree according to the institution's policy.
4. A recipient may attend University as a full or part-time student.
5. Upon successful completion of the associate’s degree at Delaware Tech, with a minimum GPA of 2.0, the recipient must apply and be eligible for admission to Wilmington University.
6. A student may take a leave of absence with prior written consent based on the institution’s policy granting the consent. The written request must be submitted to the Financial Aid office of Delaware Tech for associate degree interruption or the Partnership Institution (located in the William A. Carter Partnership Center) in which you are enrolled for bachelor’s degree interruption.

Sussex County Republican Women's Club Scholarship

To establish scholarship(s) for non-traditional student(s) enrolled part-time or full-time at the Owens Campus in an Associate or Bachelor's degree program.

- Scholarship(s) will fund tuition, fees, books, uniforms, and other course materials.
- Student(s) must demonstrate financial need.
- Student(s) must be a registered Republican.
- Preference will be given to female student(s).
- It will be split evenly into five scholarships ($500.00 per recipient).

Sylvester & Joyce Rickards Scholarship

GPA 2.5. Enrolled in an associate degree program at Owens. Preference given to students battling cancer, cancer survivors, or students who have immediate family members who are battling cancer or are cancer survivors. Preference given to students enrolled in Nursing or an Allied Health associate degree program.

Terry Campus Academic Incentive Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident attending at least half time with a minimum GPA of 3.25.

Terry Campus Alumni Association Scholarship

The successful applicant will be enrolled full time or part time at the Terry Campus. Students must have at least six credits and have a 3.0 or above GPA. Selected students will be required to provide a letter of reference, complete a letter of appreciation to the scholarship donor and must continue to meet all scholarship criteria.

Terry Campus Child Development Scholarship

Provide funding to help offset the cost of childcare for Terry Campus students. Applicant must be enrolled in diploma or degree program at Delaware Technical Community College, Terry Campus. Applicant must submit scholarship application, complete financial aid packet, registered with the Child Development Care Center, be accepted into a diploma or degree program, attach a copy of Child Development Center Child Care Schedule Request for the semester.

Terry Campus Orlando J. George, Jr. & Linda K. George Endowed Scholarship

The successful student can be full time or part time but must be enrolled in at least six credits. Students can be enrolled in any Associate's Degree program at any one of our four campuses. Students shall have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and will have earned at least 15 credits. Scholarship may be used for tuition, fees, books or other course materials. Selected applicants must complete a letter of appreciation to the scholarship donor.

Terry Campus Trustee Academic Merit Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident. Must be a returning, full time student who has a cumulative GPA of 3.8 or better. Applicant must have completed a minimum of 12 college level credits (100 level or above) at Delaware Tech in the student's declared technology and have unmet financial need determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Two scholarship reference letters from a Delaware Technical Community College employee are required. Scholarship recipients must continue to meet all criteria for the scholarship prior to the start of all award eligible semesters.

Terry Campus Trustee Access Scholarship

The successful student will be a Delaware resident and be working on a degree or diploma. Students must have a 2.0 GPA, completed a FAFSA, and have financial need.

Terry International Education Fund

The successful candidate must be a degree seeking Terry Campus student who has completed at least six institutional credits within the previous two years and be currently enrolled at Delaware Technical Community College. Candidates who meet the application and scholarship requirements will have their essay judged by the International Education Scholarship Committee. Essays will be evaluated based on the quality of content, style, and grammar. Candidates must also have a reference from a Delaware Technical Community College instructor submitted by the scholarship deadline. (There is a link to request the reference letter in the application.) Preference will be given to first time recipients.

Students must commit to contributing a minimum of ten hours of approved volunteer activities for the Terry Campus Global Understanding Series and/or campus study abroad activities within one year of the award, including the International Education Fundraiser.

Please note: The Presidential scholarship application is automatically used to apply for all other study abroad scholarships, so applicants must only fill out one application.

Terry Veterans Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled in any credit certificate, diploma or degree program at the Terry Campus. Scholarship can be applied to tuition, fees and books or course materials.

The Chris M. DeClark, David L. DeClark, Michael E. Peterson and Gerald P. Beaulieu Scholarship Endowment for Nursing and Allied Health Professionals

The successful student will be a Delaware resident, enrolled at the Owens Campus in the Nursing or Allied Health program (excluding Veterinary Technology). Students must demonstrate financial need, have a 2.75 or higher GPA, have completed 30 credits and be enrolled in at least six credits. Preference given to residents of Sussex County.

The David Martin Bloodsworth, Sr. and The David Martin Bloodsworth, Jr. Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in the Elementary Education program at the Owens Campus. Students must have a 3.0 or above GPA. Preference for students who demonstrate financial need. Scholarship will cover tuition, fees, books, course materials, etc.

The Howell & Margo Wallace Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in the Agriculture, Business, Criminal Justice or Nursing degree programs at the Terry Campus. Students will be enrolled in at least six credits. Scholarship can be applied to tuition, fees, books and course materials.

The Jill and Joe Biden Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will demonstrate financial need by completing the FAFSA process. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits and have a minimum of 2.5 GPA. This scholarship will be awarded to one student per year during the fall semester. The funds can be used for tuition, fees, books, transportation or child care. The scholarship will rotate among the four campuses.

The Megee Family Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in the Automotive diploma or associate degree program at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need, must have completed 24 credits, be enrolled in six credits or more and have a 2.0 or above GPA.

The Merrill C. Moore Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in a credit or non-credit program at the Owens Campus. Students should have a 2.5 or above GPA. Preference give to The successful student will be enrolled in a credit or non-credit program at the Owens Campus. Students should have a 2.5 or above GPA. Preference give to students who demonstrate financial need. Preference given to students in the Business Technology programs. Preference given to students active in the US Military, reserve or a veteran of the US Military. Scholarship covers tuition, fees, books and course materials.

The Neal Swartz and Mary Pauer Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled at the Terry Campus in Dover or the Owens Campus in Georgetown. Preference will be given to a resident in the Department of Labor Promise Zone with the intent of obtaining a certificate of Certified Nursing Assistant. Students must demonstrate financial need and can be used for tuition, fees, books and uniforms.

The Ned Stellman Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in the HVACR credit or diploma program at the Owens Campus. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate community service activity.

The Red Clay Garden Club Scholarship

Scholarship for DTCC Jack F. Owens Campus students enrolled in Landscape & Ornamental Horticulture. Students must have earned at least 12 credit hours and demonstrate financial need.

The Robert S. and Trena S. Kelly Support Fund

The successful student will be full or part time in any credit or non-credit program at the Owens Campus.

The Ron Pleasanton Visual Communications Scholarship

The successful student must be enrolled in the Visual Communication Program at the Terry Campus. Students must be in their second year of the program and have a 3.0 or above GPA. Scholarship can be applied to bookstore purchases.

The Tidwell Family Scholarship Endowment

The successful student must be enrolled at the Owens Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need, be enrolled in at least six credits and have a 2.5 or Students must be a veteran of the Armed Forces.

The Warren Banks & Craig Banks Memorial Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be an engineering student enrolled at the Owens Campus. Students need to have earned at least 18 credits, have a 2.5 or higher GPA. Preference given to environmental engineeering students in the electrical, plumbing and water refining area. And preference for students with a 3.0 or above GPA. Preference will be given to students who demonstrate financial need. Scholarship covers tuition, fees and books and course materials.

Thompson & Schmidgall Business Scholarship Endowment

The successful student will be enrolled in any program within the Business Department on any campus. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must demonstrate financial need. This scholarship can be used for tuition, fees or books. Preference will be given to students from a low income household and/or a first generation college student working full or part time while attending school.

Thompson and Schmidgall Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in any program within the Business Department on any campus. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits and have a minimum 2.5 GPA. Students must demonstrate financial need. This scholarship can be used for tuition, fees or books. Preference will be given to students from a low income household and/or a first generation college student working full or part time while attending school.

Trustee Scholarship Endowment

Runs through Financial Aid, but is based on a memo from Dr. Brainard each year. Per the files, there are multiple scholarships as part of the Trustee Endowment - Trustee Academic Merit Scholarship, Trustee Recogniction Scholarship, James C. Holloway Jr. Memorial Scholarship, Trustee Access Scholarship, and James R. Soles Memorial Scholarship.

Viara and Leslie Vincent-Giraffe Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled in any associate degree program at the Owens Campus. Students must have completed 12 credits and have a 2.5 or above GPA and demonstrate financial need. Preference is for students who have experienced significant personal barriers to their education (Examples include: single or teen parent, disabilities, serious personal or family illness, homelessness, non-traditional student, etc.)

Walt and Lois Studte Scholarship Endowment for Nursing and Accounting Students

The successful student must be a full time Nursing or Accounting student enrolled at the Owens Campus. Students must have completed 12 credits in their degree program and have a 2.5 or above GPA and must demonstrate financial need. Scholarship covers tuition, fees, books and course materials.

The successful student will be a resident of Sussex County, Delaware and be enrolled at the Owens Campus. Student must demonstrate financial need, have a 2.5 or above GPA and be enrolled in at least six credits. Preference given to students in any Business program.

William & Jeanne Dunning Scholarship

The successful student will be a resident of Sussex County and be enrolled at the Owens Campus. Students must be 25 years of age or older, be enrolled in any diploma or degree program with a 2.5 or above GPA. Preference given to students with a GED.

William A. Faucett Veterans Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be a veteran or chapter eligible for veteran's benefits enrolled in any degree program at the Stanton or Wilmington Campus.

William Dykes Memorial Scholarship

The successful student will be enrolled full time or part time in the Electrical Engineering program at the Stanton Campus. Students must demonstrate financial need and have a 2.5 or above GPA.

William W. Dailey, Jr. & Florence E. Dailey Scholarship Fund

The successful student will be enrolled in any engineering credit, certificate, diploma or degree program. Students must demonstrate financial need. This scholarship can be used for tuition, fees, books or course materials.

Wilmington Campus National Board for Respiratory Care Scholarship

The successful student will enrolled in the Respiratory Care program at the Wilmington Campus. Student can be full or part time and have at least a 2.0 GPA.
